Creating Without Limits

Art is more than something I create—it is the language through which I experience and interpret the world.

My name is Wilbert Maurice Rice, though many people know me as Infinite, Infinite W. Rice, or by my pen name, Doc Divine. I am a visual artist, writer, muralist, designer, and creative storyteller whose work is rooted in faith, culture, community, and the belief that creativity has the power to inspire positive change.

Born in Danbury, Connecticut, and raised in Columbia, South Carolina, my artistic journey began at an early age. While attending daycare, I discovered the joy of drawing after transforming the outline of my body into a cowboy. From that moment on, I was captivated by the world of art, spending countless hours drawing cartoon characters and developing the imagination that continues to shape my work today.

Writing soon became my second passion. Whether crafting poetry, songs, articles, or creative concepts, writing complements my visual art. The two work together in harmony, allowing me to tell stories that connect with people on multiple levels.

Inspired by Family. Guided by Purpose.

Much of my creative foundation was built through the encouragement of my family. My late father, Wilbert A. Rice, was one of my greatest artistic influences. His sketches, combined with classic comic book illustrations that filled my childhood, ignited a lifelong passion for drawing. Throughout my life, my parents, grandparents, family members, and friends consistently encouraged me to pursue my gifts.

Above all, my faith and my journey toward Knowledge of Self have profoundly influenced my outlook on life. I strive to use my talents with integrity, to serve my community, and to create work that reflects hope, resilience, and purpose.

Today, my artwork extends far beyond the canvas.

I create murals that celebrate community, unity, and resilience. I partner with schools, youth programs, businesses, and organizations to transform spaces through meaningful public art. I also provide custom artwork, logo design, and creative branding services that help businesses and organizations communicate their unique identities.

Every project is an opportunity to inspire, educate, and bring people together.

A Legacy of Creativity

One of my greatest accomplishments has been raising my children as a single parent while providing a stable home and teaching them the values of discipline, perseverance, and self-belief. Those same values continue to guide both my personal life and my creative work.

Although I have never received formal artistic training, I have dedicated my life to learning through observation, books, travel, history, culture, and continuous practice. Creativity is a lifelong journey, and every experience becomes another brushstroke in the larger picture.

My Vision

When people experience my artwork or read my writing, I hope they leave believing that the world contains more good than bad and that each of us has the power to contribute something meaningful. I want my work to encourage optimism, spark conversation, and remind people that they are part of the story.

I strive to live with compassion, to help others whenever I can, and to leave behind a legacy defined not only by the art I created but by the lives I positively impacted.
